Repairing The Kingdom
2023 | Group Project | Puzzle RPG
Repairing the Kingdom is an RPG puzzle game that I worked on for the third semester of the Masters as part of a client industry brief from Ninja Kiwi, to design a unique game mechanic and place it within a game that does not typically use it.
Our game follows Kilg, a dragon handyman living in a village of monsters whom had their village devastated by the RPG hero. Following the perspective of monsters, the game subverts the tropes of typical RPGs and places an emphasis on the more non-violent activities such as crafting and rebuilding.
My main roles and activites centered around:
- 3D Artist: Worked on environment models, foliage leaf cards, waterfall model. Primarily using Blender, ZBrush for high poly sculpts/ details. I also used Blender to rig and animate some models.
- UV unwrapping, baking and texturing of models using Substance Painter/ Designer to create materials, tiles and trim sheets.
- Logo design and typography for the fonts used. I also used Photoshop for further art related tasks such as creating particles and concept art references.
